The Board of Voter Registration and Elections of Dorchester County announced on May 6 that it will conduct a public test of the ExpressVote ballot marking devices and DS300 Precinct Scanners in preparation for the upcoming Statewide June Primaries. Testing and sealing of the voting equipment for Early Voting locations and Election Day polling places will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, and continue each business day until completed. Equipment used to tabulate Absentee By-Mail ballots is scheduled to be tested at 9:00 a.m. on June 9. All preparation and testing activities will take place at the Dorchester County Elections Warehouse located at 235 Deming Way, Summerville.
The notice invites all interested persons to attend these public tests, which are conducted in accordance with S.C. Code of laws section 7-13-1390(c). The public nature of these events is intended to ensure transparency in the election process.
