The Dorchester County Delinquent Tax Office announced on Apr. 6 that it has introduced a new online platform to facilitate delinquent tax searches and payments. Residents can now use the updated webpage to search for delinquent taxes and make payments through credit card or electronic check.

The new site aims to improve the customer experience by offering an enhanced layout and more effective search features, making it easier for taxpayers to manage their obligations. The Delinquent Tax Office is responsible for investigating and collecting overdue real and personal property taxes, as well as related assessments, penalties, and costs. The office also works to locate taxpayers who owe money, notify them of outstanding balances, and maintain accurate records of all collections.

Dorchester County promotes financial transparency by publishing employee salary data and financial reports while advancing infrastructure projects funded by federal programs such as the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), according to the official website.
