Medical University South Carolina Health issued the following announcement on September 1.
MUSC Health has returned to "Modified Operations" as of Friday, August 27. One supportive care person is allowed at the bedside of hospitalized patients. Exceptions may be made in cases where supportive care persons are necessary or at the end of life.
Our primary goal is the safety of patients, families, and care team members. Care team leaders continue to closely monitor the pandemic and develop new ways to best take care of patients. MUSC Health closely follows CDC and SCDHEC guidelines, and we are learning in real-time from the experience of other hospitals and state systems around the country as we deal with this virus.
