Trident Technical College issued the following announcement on September 10.
Medical Laboratory Technology students recently toured The Blood Connection facility in North Charleston to observe how different types of blood components are collected, processed and then transferred to area hospitals. MLT program graduates are qualified to work in hospital facilities that perform testing on both blood units and patients to deem them safe for transfusion as well as facilities such as The Blood Connection.
A special thanks to The Blood Connection staff for enabling students to see the process from start to finish. To limit the number of students in the facility due to COVID-19 precautions, students toured the facility in two groups.
