MUSC Health issued the following announcement on December 18.
"Even though Black men are more than two times more likely to die from prostate cancer, they are less likely in this country and in South Carolina to receive PSA prostate cancer screening. We also know, unfortunately, through some pretty large Medicare studies, that once Black men are diagnosed with prostate cancer, they have been less likely to receive standard of care treatments that can potentially be lifesaving.
