Trident Technical College recently issued the following announcement.
The Class of 2022 Dental Hygiene students provided oral health education to over 2,500 Lowcountry elementary school students during Fall 2.
As a part of the DHG 231 Dental Health Education course, the students visited Hanahan Elementary, Midland Park Elementary and Bowens Corner Elementary and saw students ranging from kindergarten through fifth grade.
After a 20-minute presentation, students were given the opportunity to ask questions and were then each given a new toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. The dental program plans to invite these students (and more) to the free dental clinic during Kid’s Week coming up in February for National Children’s Dental Health Month.
