Dorchester School District Two Provides Free Community Meals this Summer for Children

Dorchester School District Two will provide free bagged meals for all area children 18 years old and younger on Wednesdays from July 27 to Aug. 10. 

Meal bags include five days of breakfast and lunch meals. To pick up the meal bags each Wednesday between 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., families must reserve meals by 10 a.m. each Tuesday by calling (843) 695-4920 and choosing option 1 (Meal Pickup Registration). Leave a voicemail that includes the parent/guardian’s name and phone number, the number of student meal bags needed, and whether meals will be picked up from Alston-Bailey Elementary School, Fort Dorchester High School, or Summerville High School. Students do not need to be present at pickup. 

The free meal program is through the South Carolina Department of Education.
