Greenville Technical College (GTC) mourns the loss of significant donor Melvin Younts, who, with his late wife Dollie, funded two entrances to the college’s Center for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI) in 2016, allowing CMI to provide a path to growth and success for manufacturers and individuals. Between this gift and others, Melvin and Dollie contributed more than a million dollars to the college to benefit students, employers, and the community.
“The Younts name was known for investment in educational endeavors that had widespread reach,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. “Melvin and Dollie understood the importance of growing our economy by meeting the needs of advanced manufacturing employers, and their support allowed for welcoming entrances at CMI. We are forever grateful to the Younts family for their role in building opportunity.”
