Dorchester County - SC issued the following announcement on August 2.
Upon recommendation by Dorchester County Council and the Dorchester County Administrator, South Carolina Secretary of Veterans Affairs, Major General, William F. Grimsley, US Army (Ret), has appointed Chief Master Sergeant, Johnny K. Brown, US Air Force (Ret), to serve as the Dorchester County Director of Veterans Affairs.
Mr. Brown brings over three decades of experience to Dorchester County. Prior to his military retirement, Mr. Brown served, most recently, as the Logistics Manager for the 48th Logistics Readiness Squadron, RAF Lakenheath, England. In that role, he led 264 military and civilians employees, and provided full-spectrum logistics for 76 F-15C aircrafts and 5 HH-60G helicopters.
He holds a certificate in Supply Chain Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Program Management Certificate from Community College of the Air Force.
Dorchester County Council Chairman, Bill Hearn, said "on behalf of County Council I congratulate and welcome Mr. Brown as our Veterans Affairs Officer and wish him the best as he takes leadership of this very important office that serves the needs of our veterans.
Mr. Brown said "I'm proud to be part of an agency that provides assistance to veterans." His first day with Dorchester County is Monday, August 2.
